<br />3.n.'J' <br />.,} <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br />P1easanton, California <br />November 24. 1969 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG <br />Mayor Bernard Gerton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />8:25 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll Which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Rega. Reid. Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton were present. Mr. <br />Fales, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public <br />Works, and Mr. Castro, Director of Planning. were present. Mr. Edgar. Assistant <br />City Manager, was absent. <br /> <br />~ <br />..... <br />00 <br />'"":) <br />U <br />U <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />There were no amendments to the agenda. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that <br />the following item listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-274. accepting the flood control work for Tract <br />No. 2814, Highland Oaks Drainage Channel. <br /> <br />Ih~ ro 11 <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT : <br /> <br />call vote was as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Rega. Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEA~~ <br />Appeal of California-Hawaiian Mobile Estates, Inc.. from an adverse decision of the <br />PlanninR Commission in denvin2 an application to rezone from the A (A2riculture) <br />District to the RM-4000 (Multiple-Family) District. that property described as <br />Parcel 14-4. Assessor's Map Book 946. Block 1250, containinR approx. 21 acres. sa~d <br />property also commonly known as 3153 Vineyard Avenue <br />Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing open. <br />Mr. Fales stated that he had been requested by California-Hawaiian Mobile <br />Estates, Inc.. to ask the Council to hold this public hearing open for an indefinite <br />period, and refer their appeal back to the Planning Commission as they wished to <br />present some modifications to their application. <br />It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that <br />the appeal of California-Hawaiian Mobile Estates. Inc.. be referred back to the <br />Planning Commission and the public hearing be held open for an indefinite period. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega. Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Application of H. C. Elliott for an amerdment_to Ord. No. 520 rezoning from the A <br />1ARriculture) District to the R-1-6500 (Single-Familv) and RM-2000 (Multiple-FamilYl <br />~tricts. that property described as Parcels 1-5. 8-2. 9-4, 10-4, 10-3, 9-3. 8-1 <br />~nd 1-4, Assessor's Map Book 99-13, Block 3950. containing approx. 70 acres and <br />general Iv located south of Interstate Route 580 and east of Fairlands Drive <br />Mayor Gerton declared the above public hearing open. <br />Mr. Castro reviewed the Tentative Tract Map for Tract No. 3161 and stated that <br />the Planning Commission had unanimously approved the development with the condition <br />that that area designated as RM-2000 be modified to the RM-4000. In his repor.t to <br />the City Council, dated November 6, 1969. Mr. Castro stated that his recommendation <br />to the Planning Commission was for complete denial for any multiple in this project, <br />including the applicants request for RM-2000. <br />Mr. Woody Pereira. Planning Commissioner, stated that he felt that multiple <br />zoning in this area would create a buffer between the Highway and the R-l homes. <br />
