<br /> Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing on the rezoning application of Spivak-
<br /> Bollinter Development Company, open.
<br /> Mr. Fales described the exact location of this parcel. He stated that the
<br /> Planning Commission had adopted their Resolution No. 918, on June 25, 1969, re-
<br /> commending the approval of the rezoning from the Agricultural District to the
<br /> Commercial Freeway District based on the facts that the requested rezoning will
<br /> not be contrary to the spirit and intent of the General Plan, is in the public
<br /> interest and general welfare and creates a more equitable condition for the
<br /> community than now prevails.
<br /> Mr. Ned Robinson, representing Spivak-Bollinger Development Company, stated
<br /> that the request was consistant with the commercial zoning immediately adjacent
<br /> to this property and is consistant with the agreement entered into by the property
<br /> owners and the City at the time it was annexed.
<br /> There being no public protests, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and
<br />~ seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing be closed.

<br />~ AYES: Councilmen Rega, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton

<br /> Councilman Rega indicated that this zoning was suggested in the General Plan
<br /> Citizens Committee report of last March, but to date, the Council hasn't had the
<br /> final report of the joint study sessions held by the Planning Commission, City
<br /> Council, and the General Plan Citizens Committee. Mr. Fales stated that the
<br /> suggestions made at tha~ joint study sessions are going to be specifically re-
<br /> viewed by the Planning Commission in terms of a series of area type reviews of
<br /> the General Plan, sometime in August and September, and will be on the agenda
<br /> after the review for Council consideration.
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that
<br /> the recommendations of the Planning Commission be approved and Ordinance No. 563,
<br /> amending Ordinance No. 520, rezoning from the Agricultural District to the Commer-
<br /> cial Freeway District, that property described as Parcel 15, Assessor's Map Book
<br /> 946, Block 1100, containing approximately 1.37 acres, and bounded by Santa Rita
<br /> and Tassajara Roads, be introduced.
<br /> The roll call vote was as follows:
<br /> AYES: Councilmen Rega, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton
<br /> NOES: None
<br /> ABSENT: Councilman Reid

<br /> and located on the west side of Foothill Road, south of Bernal Avenue and north of
<br /> Castlewood Drive
<br /> Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing on the application of Mr. Harry
<br /> Shackelton open.
<br /> Mr. Fales described the location of this parcel and Mr. Edgar displayed a map
<br /> of the area.
<br /> Mr. Fales reported that the Planning Commission has recommended to the. City
<br /> ..... Council, the rezoning from the Agricultural District to the R-1-20,O00, Single-
<br /> Family District as it is in conformance with the General Plan.
<br /> There being no public protests on this application, it was moved by Councilman
<br /> Rega and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing be closed.

<br /> cribed as Parcel 4, Block 4045, Assessor's Map Book 946, containing 3.44 acres
<br /> and located on the west side of Foothill Road, south of Bernal Avenue and north
<br /> of Castlewood Drive, be introduced.
