31 9: <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> May 25, 1970 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid were present. Councilman <br />Spiliotopoulos was absent. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City <br />Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and <br />Mr. Castro, Director of Planning, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> There were no amendments to the agenda. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-116, approving and providing for the execution <br /> of a contract for a Federal grant to acquire and/or develop land for open <br /> space purposes. <br /> <br />b.Adoption of Resolution No. 70-117, scheduling a public protest hearing on <br /> July 6, 1970, for Annexation No. 64, Foothill Road. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARiNGS <br /> There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Report of the Planning Commission Re: PUD-60Z8, Application .of First Pleasanton <br />Investors to fezone by amendment to the original PUD from the RM-2500 and R-1-6500 <br />Districts to the C~F and RM-?O00 Districts that propert~.....described as Parcel 2-9 of <br />Assessor's Map Book 946, Block 1101 containin~ 11.7 acres~ more or. les~. aqd ~ <br />portion of Parcel 67 AssesSor~s"Map Book 99-B, Block 3950~ Page 1, containing. 9.~l <br />acres,_ mo~.~ or less, or more co.m~...only known as that p~operty immediately south of <br />Highway.#580 and east of Tassa,]ara Road~ P!~a~nt0.q, <br /> Mr. Fales explained that this matter is scheduled for review by the City Council <br />on June 1, 1970. <br /> In answer to Councilman Pearson's inquiry of last week, Mr. Hirst informed the <br />Council that a public hearing on this application had been held by the Planning <br />Commission but not by the City Council. Mr. Hirst explained that the Council has <br />the option whether or not to hold a public hearing. <br /> Councilman Pearson stated that he felt a public hearing should be held on this <br />application in order to give the residents, particularly in that area, a chance to <br />express their views on this rezoning. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Mayor Reid that a public <br />hearing be set for June 8, 1970, on the application of First Pleasanton Investors. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: Councilman Beratlis <br />ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br /> <br />
