S. <br /> ~.9uSi~ Act of 1937 <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from Mrs. Gall Shearer~ Secretary of Casas Bushas, <br /> dated January 6, 1970s which urged the City Council to approve Section No. <br /> Leased Housing Program in Pleasanton in order to ease the financial hardship on <br /> families receiving welfare that are paying rent that is higher than their budgets <br /> allow. <br /> Mr. Fales explained that the City participation will be for a maximum of 75 <br /> units within the City~ to be operated and managed pursuant to agreement between <br /> Alameda County Housing Authority and the City Housing Authority. Mr. Fales also <br /> stated that the City participation is conditioned upon the need and performance <br /> of the lease housing program at the end of one year from the date of commencement <br /> of the program. <br /> Mrs. Elizabeth Hall~ Chairman of the Pleasanton Housing Authority Commission~ <br /> also explained how individuals in Pleasanton who are receiving welfare assistance <br /> could benefit from a Section 23 Program in Pleasanton. Mrs. Hall also stated that <br /> Alameda County has money to finance this program for one year. <br /> After discussiou~ it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by <br /> Councilman Rega that Resolution No. 70-10, Authorizing the Housing Authority to <br /> participate in the Alameda County leased housing program as described in Section <br /> 23 of the Housing Act of 1965, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Betaills, Rega, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> <br />
