455 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> November 30, 1970 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER -PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> <br />Mayor Robert Reid .called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council to order at 8:00 P.M. and then led the pledge of allegiance <br />to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayo~ Reid were present. <br />Councilman Beratlis was absent. Mr. Fales, City ~anager, Mr. Edgar, <br />Assistant City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, <br />Director of Public Works, were present. Mr. Aiello, Acting Director <br />of Planning, was absent. <br /> <br />A petition was filed with Mayor Reid by citizens o~ Pleasanton Valley <br />-area which indicated the need for a 'stop' sign or some safety <br />measure for school children crossing at the intersections of Valley <br />Avenue and Northway and at Black Avenue and Harvest Road. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid accepted the petition and directed Mr.. Campbell to review <br />this matter and report his findings at the Counci! Meeting on <br />December 7, 1970. <br /> <br />AWARD OF CONTRACT RE: MUIPSqOOD PARK <br /> <br />Mr. Fales announced that 11 bids were received and that the base bid <br />of Economy Garden Supply, Incorporated, in the amount of $89,168.00 <br />and Alternate NO. 1, in the amount of ~3,966.00 has been verified <br />as the low' bidder. Mr. Fales stated that the Engineers estimate on <br />this work was $110,000.00 and recommended that the bid be awarded <br />to-Economy Garden Supply, Incorporated. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman <br />Spi!iotopoulos that Resolution No. 70-233, awarding the contract <br />for the construction of Phase I, Muinqood Park to Economy Garden <br />Supply, Incorporated, for the total amount of $93,134.00, be adopted. <br /> <br />The. roll= call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Flayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman 'Beratlis <br /> <br />There being no further business at 8:10 P,M., r.layor Reid adjourned <br />the meeting to a Study Session. ? ~ <br />Respectfully submitted, · /: .
