Mr. Campbell was asked to keep a very close daily check on the number of building permits within the areas sewering directly to the exist- ing facility and, if the number of permits exceeds the normal amount, this should be reported to the City Council to determine whether the issuance of permits should cease. It was moved by Councilman Pearson that the staff should provide add- itional information and then hold a study session on this entire mat- ter, after which, a determination on the Morrison application can be made. Councilman Pearson's motion died for lack of a second to it. Mr. Ed Lake stated that his company would not apply for any building permits until the City has a definite schedule with V.C.S.D. Mr. Edgar read a report from Mr. Borg, Assistant District Superinten- dent for the Pleasanton School District, which stated that there was no need for a school in the subject development. Mr. Hirst reviewed his report, dated June 3, 1971 regarding the legal alternati%,esavailable.in connection with the~impending referendum and proposed initiative. Mayor Reid suggested that the alternatives listed in the City Attorn- ey's report be placed on next weeks' agenda~for further consideration.
