After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by i.layor Reid that the City Council re-affirm its support of A.B. 1032. Adter additional comments, Councilman Spiliotopoulos moved a substit- ute motion which v~as seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the Pleasanton School District Board of Trustees be requested to des- cribe the details of their position with regard to A.B. 1032 in order that the City Council may further consider this matter. Fales read the above communication. ZqEETING OPEN TO TttE PUBLIC i4r. Ed ticDonald, representing the Rural Foothill Defenders Commit- tee, presented a petition for referendum on Ordinance No. 629. Foot- hill Road rezoning, which was signed by some 2000 registered voters of the City of Pleasanton. The petition was accepted and filed by the City Clerk. CITY COUNCIL CO!-~!ITTEE Pj~POP. HATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBEP~S Councilman Pearson initiated discussion on the City paying for the paving of the parking lot which will be associated with the library which is to be re-located on the Amador Park site. Mr. Fales reported that at such time as the library is terminated at the park site, the parking lot will become a portion of the park and will be a permanent improvement. After additional discussion, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotop- oulos and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the City of Pleasanton ~vill re-pay Alameda County for the actual cost of the installation of a parking lot at the time the interim Library location upon the park is terminated providing that after the Library is removed the parking lot will be returned to the City for municipal use in good and useable condition. 5. 5-17-71
