He <br />asked why the City acccL:~'t,,~j] i-,,:~rks i f the City was not going to <br />maintain them properl,~,. Hr~, Fa]es replied that the City now has 50 <br />acres of parks and just ~e ~.:;amc number of people in the Public Works <br />Department as when ~-he (~ity ow~e,j 10 acres of parks. Reid. stated that he ~I~uid rc[~'ort on his conference in Washington, <br />D. C. when all members of the council were present. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY C()~h(.~[b <br /> <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos a~ked t-l~e skaff to investigate the possibil- <br />ities of combining forces and equipment with the Pleasanton School <br />District regarding park m~]ntcnance, Dt~, Fales advised the Council <br />that negotiations are cui'~.entl¥ being conducted with the School <br />District. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid stated that he [~ad x;'<',ccived a letter from the Pleasanton <br />Cooperative Nursery School requesting the use of one of the old <br />buildings remaining at the the former Orloff Dairy property.
