<br />Vintage Hills Studio,, as sontained in Resolution No. 1063 of the
<br />Planning Commission, be adof~ted.

<br />Mayor Reid declared the }?u~]ic hearing open.

<br />Mr. Aiello displayed maps of the property and then reviewed his report
<br />dated March 3, 1971. He also reviewred Resolution No. 1067 which was
<br />adopted by the Plannxng Conm~ission on February 23, 1971, which recomm-
<br />ended to the Cjty Council that the subject application be approved
<br />subject to four
<br />
<br />Mr. John Corley, representing Dr, Kreske, explained that his client
<br />had purchased the additional 1,63 acres adjoining his already zoned
<br />Public and Institutional .Y,~roi~ertv_ on ~.,~hich he has a conditional use
<br />permit to construct a 100 bed convalescent hospital. Mr. Corley
<br />stated that with the additional 1.63 acres, Dr. Kreske would re-
<br />design the hospital, enlarge tE~c rooms and add 29 additional beds.
<br />Mr. 'COrley also stated this ~.yould }provide better landscape screening
<br />from Neal Street and create_, cc~?~s],derably more open space. Mr. Corley
<br />compared the lesser amo~n~== {,~f traffic generated with that of single
<br />family dwellings situated ~'-,~ t]~js ~roperty.

<br />Mr. Dale Heikkinen, 346 bel ,~ol, spoke against the application and
<br />asked the City Council to disapprove it.
<br />
<br />Mr. Ronald Sandberg, 450 [.,]eal Street, stated that a convalescent
<br />hospital in a residential area is definitely not in the best interests
<br />of the surrounding property o,.,~ners.
<br />
<br />There being no further public comments, it was moved by Councilman
<br />Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public
<br />hearing be closed.

<br />No. 625, amending Ordinance No. 520, rezoning from the RM-4000
<br />Multiple District to the Public and Institutional District, that
<br />,property described as a [>ortion of Parcel 25, Assessor's Map Book 99,
<br />Page 19.,. containing 1.63 acres, be introduced.
