AND - COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br /> B3ZPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> Report Re: Status .,of AmbulanceiService <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar :reviewed .his: repor. t, dated Fehrua=ry. 22, 1971, in which he <br /> recommended th, at the !City Council authorize ttle sta'ff to solicit bids <br /> for ambulance service for the City in accordan'ce with the specifica- <br /> tions out-lined in his report and that during the few weeks in which <br /> bids are being soticitated, that the sta'ff~be authorized to operate <br /> <br />· under the provisions of the old~ agreement as if it were still in <br /> effect. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Gerton' and' seconded by Councilman Pearson <br /> that the staff be authorized to soliait bi.ds .for ~ambulance service <br /> as outlined in the report of the Assistant City Manager, dated <br /> February 22, 1971 and be further authorized, during the interim per- <br /> iod to operate under the provisions of the old agreement. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilman Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSNET: Councilman Beratlis <br /> <br /> Matters for the information of the' Council <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales reported that the following items! have been fonvarded for <br /> the information ~of the Council. <br /> <br /> 1. The Zone No. 7 ·Hinutes. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE-CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br /> There were no reports from-the City Attorney. <br /> <br /> COMMUN I CAT I ON S <br /> <br /> There were no communications' read at this 'meeting. <br /> <br /> * Councilman Beratlis joined the meeting at 8:40 P.M. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL ,COFff4ITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br /> Councilman Gerton reported on both the ABAG and Air Pollution <br /> Control meetings he had attended recently. <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br /> Councilmaa Gerton asked Mr. Fales to schedule a Study Session on <br /> Air Pollution Control on an agenda in the near future. <br /> <br />Councilman Gerton also asked Mr. Fales to investigate the matter of <br />whether or not the City Council can take a position on the assess- <br />ments imposed by the Alameda County Assessor on farm lands in the <br />Valley. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pearson initiated discussion regarding the proposed <br /> Skyline Parkway.
