It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Herlihy <br />that Resolution No. 72-114, awarding the contract to Steiny and Com- <br />pany, Inc., in the amount of $49,000.00 for the installation of traffic <br />signals on Black Ayenue at both Hopyard Road and Santa Rita Road, be <br />adopted. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Pearson and Mayor Pro Tempore Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Reid <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> <br />There were no matters for the information of the Council. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />There were no reports from the City Attorney. <br /> <br />COMMUN I CAT IONS <br /> <br />There were no communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Councilman Kinney reported that the Community Concerns Committee was' <br />planning to take a community poll to find out what points are ~objection- <br />able or favorable relating to the Kaiser Land Reclamation, Project. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br />Councilman Pearson protested the proposed appointment~of Mr, George <br />Oakles to the BASSO Board. He stated his reasons for his objection as <br />being that Mr. Oakes is one of the developers that is currently!suing~ <br />the City of Pleasanton and V.C.S.D. Also that BAS~'will be very <br />influential in sewer matters, and that he did not feel it was. appro- <br />priate that a developer in this situation be appointed to~'this!~board'. <br /> <br />It was then moved by Councilman Pearson that the City Coun~il~oppose <br />the appointment of Mr. George Oakes by the Alameda County Board of <br />Supervisors to the BASS~ Board. <br /> <br />There was no second to Councilman Pearson's motion.TM <br /> <br />Regarding the vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Commission, it was <br />moved by Councilman Kinney and seconded by Mayor Pro' Tempore.. He further stated that Mr. Oakes <br />would certainly have a conflict of interest in BAS~ matters. <br /> <br /> <br />
