PUBLiCIHEARINGS <br /> <br /> Considerat~pn of the 1.97.~.-73 C~ty of Pleas.an.~on..B.udg. et <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar announced that three work sessions have been held on the bud- <br /> get and recommended that after the closing of this public hearing, that' <br />-'the 1972-73 budget be adopted as a guide but also that it remain flexible. <br /> Mr. Edgar requested that the policies of Education Incentive, Unused Sick <br /> Leave Time and Training Goals and Objectives be adopted separately by <br /> resolution. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar'stated that he intended to discuss the budget with various <br /> Commercial and Home Owner Associations in order to provide some meaning- <br /> ful imput, prior to setting the tax rate in August. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid asked for further testimony from the public. <br /> <br /> Mrs. W.A. Notten, 7612 Driftwood Way, stated that this is the third time <br /> she has appealed to the Council for a bicycle trail along Foothill Road. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pearson advised Mrs. Notten that this had been discussed <br /> during the.Budget Study Sessions and very possibly this can be funded <br /> from~Park Dedication Fees, Gas Tax Funds or money received resulting <br /> from the increasein Assest Valuation. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori directed the city s~taff to determine of thes~ sources <br /> could provide funds for the bicycle trail system. <br /> <br /> Mr. RonMcNicoll, 444 St. Mary Street, questioned the $400 in the Cham- <br /> ber of Commerce Budget which was related to the costs of "Pleasanton <br /> Day" at the .Fair. He stated that he felt that since the City was con- <br /> tributing to the Chamber's Budget, this was quite an expense for that <br /> day. <br /> <br /> Councilman Einneyexplained that the Chamber was altering their format <br /> for that event in hopes that the $400 will be spent to a better advan- <br /> tage. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony from the public, it was moved by <br /> Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Kinney that the public <br /> hearing be closed. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br /> 'NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After some discussion on several specific budget items, it was moved <br /> by Councilman Mori and seconded by Councilman Herlihy that Resolution <br /> No. 72-94, approvingthe Budget of the City of Pleasanton for the 1972- <br /> 1973 Fiscal Year as a flexible guideline which will be reviewed period- <br /> ically, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen.
