REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER' <br /> <br />Report. Re: Prop0s.a! to conduct Motorcycle Races at <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar reviewed the application and subsequent reports <br />this pfop0sed activity. <br /> <br />Mr. Dan Thatcher, the applicant, reviewed the past races <br />sponsored and reported that he has had no repercussions rela~. <br />noise, dust or the behaviour of the spectators. He emphasiz{ed <br />fact that proceeds from this race are to benefit the Muir <br />the Childrens' Hospital Medical Center in Lafayette. <br /> <br />Mr. Lee Hall, Assistant Fair Manager, stated that the beneflt-c~ <br />this race were most worthwhile. <br /> <br />After considerable discussion regarding this application, <br />moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilma~ <br />Pearson that the application of Mr. Dan Thatcher, be denied. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: Councilmen Beratlis and Gerton <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report Re: Police Crackdown on Motorcycles and Mini-bikes <br /> <br />After discussion of the program outlined in a news tel. ease <br />Chief of Police relating to the above mentioned report, it <br />moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilmar~ <br />that the City Council support the police enforcement <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None Mayor <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Matters for the information of the Council <br /> <br />There were 'no matters for the information of the Council, <br /> <br />REPORTS OF' THE'.
