REPORTS OF THE CITY, ATTORNEY <br /> <br />There were no reports of the City Attorney. <br /> <br />COMMUN I CAT I ON S <br /> <br />Letter from Pleasantonl Chamber of,- Commerce Industr~ial, =,Committee. <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar read the above lett'er, in which the. Chamber~of Commerce <br />strongly recommends to the City Council' that the~ City ,allocate the <br />highest possible priorityl fo~ future sewage connections ,,to indns~trial <br />and commercial development, as capacity becomes available ~in the <br />V.C.S.D. and Pleasanton Sewage 'Plants. <br /> <br />Discussion regarding the~ amonnt~ of-'capaclty to reserve, ensued. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />There were no City Council committee, reports. <br /> <br />D~ATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br />Mayor Reid initiated discussion regarding the possible coercion bV <br />Councilman Pearson contacting the-managers of LuckV and Alpha Beta <br />Stores regarding the decreasing their advertising in the Independent <br />news p ape r. <br /> <br />Councilman Pearson stated that there was no coercion used and that <br />he and Mayor Clyde Taylor of Livermore' made it very clear that they <br />were acting as private citizens. He further stated that he would <br />have done this for any newspaper in financial p~oblems because he <br />felt the different viewpoints expressed by different newspapers in <br />the valley was good. <br /> <br />After some discussion, the staff was. directed to contact the Stores' <br />managers for a report o,n this matter. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />No one addressed the Chair. <br />ADJO5 RNMENT <br /> <br />There being no further business at 10:35 P.M. ,. it was moved by ~Council- <br />man Beratlis and seconded by CoUncilman Gerton that '.the meeting be <br />adjourned to meet again in Reg~.iar Session at 8:00 P,M. on February <br />28, 1972~ <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Counc~ lmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson-,.
