CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilman Mori reported on a meeting of the Valley Water Inter- <br />est Committee, stating progress was being made in that the Legislative' <br />Committee unanimously approved the Alternate Plan C1 as recommended by <br />Brown and Caldwell. Progress was also made as to the admlnistration <br />and implementation of the plan. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney reported on the meeting of the Community <br />Concerns Committee on November 30, 1972, stating there were some minor <br />changes in their proposals that would be discussed with the City <br />Council at their joint workshop meeting to be held at 7:00 P.M. on <br />December 11, 1972, <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY CO~CIL EMBERS <br /> Councilman Herlih'y expressed concern regarding PleaSanton's water <br />supply being contaminated by the proposed Kaiser Land Fill Project and <br />requested the Council to re-affirm their policy statement regarding <br />this matter and transmit to all public agencies involved. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy and seconded by Councilman Mori, <br />that Resolution No. 72-205, requesting that the Regional Water Quality <br />Control Board establish standards for the Kaiser Reclamation Project <br />that would guarantee Pleasanton water supply and therefore provide <br />definite assurance that the basin would not be degraded, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Coun'~i'lmen tteriih~", Kinney, Mori and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED: Councilman Pearson <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy expressed concern regarding the County's <br />consideration of the Rural Residential Plan for Ridges, and suggested <br />a policy statement be forwarded to the Alameda County Planning <br />Commission and the Board of Supervisors coordinating any plans for the <br />Ridgelands with the City's General Plan and Open Space Program. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and <br />seconded by Councilman Kinney, that Resolution No. 72-206, requesting <br />that Alameda County coordinate their planning efforts in the Ridge- <br />lands with the City's current planning program, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: " CoUnCilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori and Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori requested a status report regarding the progress <br />of the gravel companies. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid stated that anyone desiring to be on any of the <br />Committees of the East Bay Division League of California Cities, <br />regarding the "New Directions Program" should advise him immediately. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated there would be no Council meetings on December <br />25 and January 1. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the "Chair. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Reid recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 9:50 P.M. <br /> <br /> -4- 12/4/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
