MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 18, 1972 <br /> <br />' CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Reid called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 7:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag~ <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid were present~ Mr. Hirst, <br /> City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Castzo, Director of <br /> Community Development, were present. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, was absent° <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> There were no amendments to the agenda. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Mori that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for September 11, 1972~ <br /> <br /> b. Approval of Claims; Review of Financial Reports, August, 1972~ <br /> <br /> c. Waive reading of Ordinance No. 674, an ordinance lifting the Study District <br /> Designation for a portion of Study Area E, for those parcels fronting Black <br /> Avenue to revert said properties back to the RM-2500 District (Multi-Family <br /> Residential), and retaining for a period not to exceed 60 days that property <br /> located between the Del Valle Parkway and the Arroyo del Valle presently in <br /> the Study District. <br /> <br /> d. Adoption of Ordinance No. 674. <br /> <br /> e. Adoption of Resolution No~ 72-156, approving progress payment No. 1, in the <br /> amount of $5,670.00, to Precomp Tanks, Inc., for Bonde Reservoir construc-! <br /> tion, Project 72-4. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> Application of the Planning Commission to rezone from the A (A~riculturai) Dis- <br /> trict to the I-G (General Industry) District that..property fronting Oakland <br /> Avenue immediately north and adjacent to the J.A.Jenks Co. property, containing <br /> 1.45 acres~ more or less <br /> Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open. <br /> Mr. Castro presented the staff report, with the recommendation that this appli- <br /> cation be approved because of its accessibility to the Southern Pacific Railroad. <br /> Mr. Dick Braden, MacKay and Somps, representing Mr. Art Hilliker, stated that <br /> his client was in full support of the staff report. <br />-- It was moved by Councilman Pearson, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy,~that <br /> the public hearing be closed. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> <br />
