SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report Re: Pleasanton Garbage Service~ Ineo~ ~ariance to modify a non-conforming <br />use (addition to a non-conforming dump of a t.emporary transfer for the storage <br />and transhipment of household refuse) in an A (AgricUltural). Districts located <br />at 2512 Vineyard Ave.~ south side~ 1/2 mile east of the City of Pleasanton, <br />Pleasanton AreaT Murray Township <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that the <br />Planning Commission, after hearing all testimony and reviewing this referral from <br />Alameda County, deemed this request for a temporary transfer station at the <br />Pleasanton Garbage Service dump site at 2512 Vineyard Avenue to be a proper one. <br /> <br /> Mr. Joe Schwab, Attorney representing Pleasanton Garbage Service, requested <br />favorable consideration by the City Council regarding this transfer station. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that <br />Resolution No. 72-134, endorsing the Planning Commission recommendation for a <br />temporary transfer station at the present Pleasanton Garbage Service dump site <br />at 2512 Vineyard Avenue, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mort, and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED:Councilman Pearson <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report Re: Chamber of Commerce Subsidy <br /> Mr. Edgar presented his report regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney requested study regarding the possibility of establish- <br />ing a City Industrial Committee. <br /> <br /> The City Council requested this matter be continued for further study and <br />report by the staff. <br /> <br />Report Re: Adoption of the 1972/73 Tax Rate <br /> Mr. Edgar and Mr. Walker presented the report regarding this matter° <br /> <br /> After discussion and explanation regarding the budget and tax rate, this <br />matter was continued to the meeting of August 21, 1972. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar advised the City Council he would be on vacation from August 10 <br />through August 25. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Letter from Howard W. Neely, Re: Tra~.fic Situation <br /> Mr. Edgar presented this letter. The City Council instructed Mr. Edgar to <br />reply to Mr. Neely, explaining speed limits associated with trucks, the new <br />proposed truck route ordinance, and the proposed temporary solution to the <br />Civic Center site. <br /> <br />Letter from Mr. David Herrmann, Re: Trees <br /> Mr. Edgar presented this letter° The City Council instructed Mr~ Edgar to <br />reply to Mr. Hermann regarding the necessary widening project on Hopyard and <br />Black in order to install traffic signals, and the replacement program for trees <br />in this areat <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilman Kinney reported that at the last Traffic Safety Committee meeting, <br />it was suggested that this Committee be expanded to include one member from the <br />Community Concerns Committee, and one member from the Planning Commission° <br /> <br /> The staff was instructed to schedule this matter on the next agendao <br /> <br /> 8/7/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
