After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by <br /> Councilman Kinney, to uphold the decision of the Planning Commission in deny- <br /> ing a Conditional Use Permit to Savmor Auto Supply, Inca, to locate an auto- <br /> motive accessories store in the Val Vista Shopping Center, <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: Councilman Pearson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Application of the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton to place in <br /> a Study District for a period of 60 days the following properties: Parcel 2-2I <br /> Block 3295, Assessor's-Map Book 946, containinM ~95 acres more or less] Parce~ <br /> 1-2t Block 3295t Assessor's Map Book 946~ containinM 2o58 acres more or less] <br /> Parcel 1-1, Block 3295, Assesspr's Map Book 946~ containing 2°70 acres more or <br /> less] Parcel 3-8, Block 32951Assessor's Map Book 946, containing 6.93 acres <br /> more or less] said properties fronting on Santa Rita Road and more commonly <br /> known as those properties from and including the Western Sierra facility to <br /> the Morrison Homes single-family developmen~ <br /> This matter was continued to the meeting of August 21, 1972. <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> Reconsideration of Application of Citizens Savings and Loan at Alpha Beta <br /> Center <br /> This matter was continued to the meeting of August 21, 1972o <br /> <br /> Further Report Re: Approval of Agreement~ Veterans Memorial Buildin~ <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the proposed agreement between the City and Alameda <br /> County regarding use of the Veterans Memorial Building. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori and seconded by Councilman Pearson that <br /> Resolution No. 72-133, approving the agreement between the City and Alameda <br /> County regarding use of the Veterans Memorial Building, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Report of the City Mana~er~ Re: Signalization Project at Hopyard and Black <br /> Mr. Edgar presented his report regarding this matter° <br /> <br /> After several members of the audience spoke regarding the safety factor <br /> of the traffic signal, as well as replacement of the trees, it was moved by <br /> Councilman Herlihy and seconded by Councilman Kinney to approve the recommen- <br /> dations of the City Manager regarding the signalization project at Hopyard <br /> and Black as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. No further trees be removed along Hopyard. Road until the trees at <br /> the Alpha Beta Shopping Center and the intersection of Black Avenue <br /> and Hopyard Road are replaced. <br /> <br /> 2. The current project at the intersection at Black Avenue and Hopyard <br /> Road proceed as planned with the exception that the fifth tree <br /> scheduled for removal be left standing at this time with the full <br /> understanding that after full notice and discussion it may have to <br /> come down later on depending upon traffic safety considerations. <br /> <br /> 3. The four tree stumps at the intersection be removed as required by <br />__ the current design of the project. <br /> <br /> 4. Prior to any further removal of trees within the City, the matter <br /> will be reviewed in accordance with the administrative procedures <br /> set forth in Attachment E of the City Manager'$ report. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 8/7/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
