It was moved by Mayor Ruid, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that Councilman Herlihy be selected as Mayor P~lo-Tempore for a one year term. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Pearson, and Mayor Reid NOES: Councilman Kinney ABSENT: None ABSTAINED:Councilman Mori Mayor Reid stated chat it has been a distinct honor and privilege for him to serve as Mayor for the past three year~ and as a chosen representative of the people for the past seven years, and stated that in the difficult growth years the people of Pleasanton have maintained a high spirit, which makes the City a good place to live~ May=~r Reid commended the City staff and thanked all those who have been helpful and k~.nd to him during his term of office. Mayor Reid relinquished the gavel to Councilman Pearson, extending congratulations and his promise to remain active ~n the ~ommunity. Mayor Pearson chanke.~ nhe Council for their nomination. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION Appeal of John quindimil_!z_1590 Mission Drive~ Pleas~gton~ of the Plannin~ Commission decision approvin8 a Co____nJitional Use Permit for the const.[uction of the Pleasanton Joint School District Administration Office to be located on the district school site in the Mission Park Development Mr. Edgar presented a progress report on this matter stating that the School District is looking at an alternate site on the Civic Center location. Mr. Edgar recommended that this item be continued one month pending finalization of a legal agreement in this ~egard. Mr. Gatti, School District Superintendent, extended congratulations to Mayor Pearson. He sta~ed tham a~er many meetings between the City and School District Board, a solution ~o the School District office site is in the negotiating stage and should be final soon ~or the Council's consideration. Mr. Ron Martyn~ A~chitect for the proposed new office, displayed drawings and told the Council it would be located on approximately 2 acres of land adjacent to the Post O~fice and £ronting on Main Street and the Bernal extension.
