<br />MINUTES <br />of <br />THE MEETING <br />of <br />THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />April 16, 1973 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br />Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid were present. Councilman Kinney <br />was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, and Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, <br />were present. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that the <br />following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes of April 9, 1973. <br /> <br />b. Approval of Claims for March, 1973. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-64, approving agreement with Morrison Homes, <br />regarding Valley Trails School Site. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-65, accepting Grant Deed from The Roman <br />Catholic Bishop of Oakland, for Bernal Avenue Realignment. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-66, approving progress payment No.8, to <br />Precomp Tanks, Inc., for construction during March, 1973, Bonde Reservoir, <br />Project 72-4, in the amount of $21,959.63. <br /> <br />The roll <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />call vote was as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, <br />None <br />Councilman Kinney <br /> <br />Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Appeal of MacKay & Somps, Civil Engineers, on behalf of Mackay Homes, of a portion <br />of certain action taken by the Planning Commission on March 13, 1973, regarding <br />UP-73-l. namely: Item 7 of said conditions wherein certain street paving has been <br />required by the City <br />This matter had been continued from the meeting of April 9, 1973, in order to <br />ascertain from the contractor doing the Hopyard Road widening if he could add this <br />project to his present contract with the City and at what cost. <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar reported that the City's contractor, East Bay Excavating Company, <br />Inc., has agreed to do this work for a cost of $433.00. Mr. Edgar presented a <br />letter from MacKay & Somps, dated April 16, 1913, in which they agreed to pay to <br />the City the sum of $433.00 at such time as the required paving work is completed. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid declared this matter be dismissed from the agenda, since it has <br />been resolved. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Request of the Pleasanton Art League for a Temporary Main Street Sign <br />Mr. Edgar presented a letter from the Pleasanton Art League, requesting per- <br />mission to place a street sign across Main Street in order to promote their 4th <br />annual Spring Art Show on May 5 and 6, 1973, said sign to comply with the appro- <br />priate Public Works conditions. <br />
