<br /> CALL '['O ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG
<br /> Mayor Robert Pearson called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at
<br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
<br />
<br /> ROLL CALL
<br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows:
<br /> Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson were present. Councilman Reid
<br /> was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell,
<br /> Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works, Mr. Castro, Director of Community
<br /> Development, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, Mr. Walker, Assistant to
<br /> the C, Ity Manager, and Mr. Miller, Assistant to the City Manager, were present.

<br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS
<br /> Mr., Edgar stated that Dr. Morton Nelson, Regional Health Officer, requested
<br /> ~ha~ Items 6a, 9c and d, related to holding tanks and septic tanks, be continued
<br /> for two,, weeks for further study by his Department.
<br />
<br /> Lounc ~lman Kinney requested that Mrs. Gerald BellinSet be allowed to make a
<br /> presentation regarding Pleasanton Blood Bank.

<br /> CONSENT CAI, ENDAR
<br /> ]~ was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the
<br /> '..e~low~ng items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved:

<br /> Approval of City Council Minutes for July 23, 1973.
<br />
<br /> Adoption of Ordinance No. 702, amending Section 2-15.03, Article 1 (Sewer Ser-
<br /> vice Charges), Chapter 8 (Sewage), Title II (Zoning and Development), of =he
<br /> O~dinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to Sewer Service Charges.
<br />
<br /> c, Adoption of Resolution No. 73-127, approving Progress Pa~ent No. 2 to East
<br /> Ba~ Excavating Co., Inc., for Hopyard Road widening at Pleasanton Ca~l,
<br /> Proisn't 73-1, in the amount of $8,896.95.

<br /> Mrs~ Gerald Bellinger, 4219 Graham, addressed the Council regarding the
<br /> ~>leasanton Blood Bank. She stated this was a volunteer service, and anyone in
<br /> Pie~santon is eligible to receive blood from this Bank. Any person desiring to
<br /> ~ionat'e blood may do so the first Tuesday of every month at the Veterans Build-
<br /> a, ng~ Anyone desiring further infor~=ion may contact Mrs. Bellinger at

<br /> [?~[s~:r~ct was to allow construction of a co~ercial bank at the Southwest corner
<br /> ..:~f Ma.~n S~reet and Bernal Avenue. He further stated that although the final
<br /> je~.:is~_<~ had not been made on the Civic Center layout plan, this facility would
<br /> a~:~t a~ f~e<...~; these plans and would be compatible with the Overlay District.
