It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, that <br />Resolution No. 74-41, approving the concept wherein the County will continue to pro- <br />vide shelter services under the existing joint powers agreement, with each city <br />either providing its own field service or individually contracting with the County <br />for said service, and approving the County's proposed shelter service budget, be <br />adopted. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox and <br /> Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a pamphlet entitled "Private Property and the Public Interest", <br />submitted by Preserve Area Ridgelands Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from Department of Transportation dated February 27, <br />1974, regarding addition of another on-ramp from Foothill Road and stating that this <br />was not practical. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from the Public Utilities Comnission dated March 1, <br />1974, stating that reduction of street lighting is not necessary at this time. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that the <br />Pleasanton sign be turned on again thisreek. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox and <br /> Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from Ken Lamb, Traffic Engineer, dated March 5, <br />1974, and report of the Traffic Committee regarding improvement of accident statistics. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Board of Directors of <br />the City of pleasanton Public Facilities Corporation, dated February 13, 1974, re- <br />garding Tree Planting Program. The City Council endorsed this plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter to Department of Transportation dated March 7, <br />1974, regarding position of City of Pleasanton in regard to environmental clearance <br />requirements for proposed Stoneridge Drive overcrossing. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Authorization to participate in Suit against E,P.A. Re: Indirect Sources Regulation <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that if the City <br />Council is interested in having the City participate in suits against the Environ- <br />mental Protection Agency pertaining to recently issued indirect sources regulations, <br />it will be necessary for the City Council to authorize participation by the City <br />Attorney in filing the necessary petition for review and participation in any joint <br />briefs regarding said regulations. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, author- <br />izing the City Attorney to participate in a joint petition for review and any addi- <br />tional legal action pertaining to the indirect sources regulations promulgated by <br />the Environmental Protection Agency on February 25, 1974. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox and <br /> Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 5. 3/18/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
