Chapter 2~ Tit.le.~I of the Ordinanc.e .Cpde of the City of Pleasanton~ <br />to allow the construction of a four feet high chain link fence in the required <br />front setback of property located at 4565 Black A~enRe; zonin~ district for the <br />property is R-1-6500 <br /> Mr. Harris presented the staff report dated December 11, 1974, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a petition signed by 13 residents in the area which read <br />as follows: "We live in the area where Mr. V. K. Bailey would like to put up a <br />four foot chain link fence, we do not want this fence as we feel it is out of <br />context with what is now a beautiful street." <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Victor Bailey, 4565 Black Avenue, stated he need~ the fence in order to <br />protect some yard lamps that are necessary to illuminate his driveway. He pre- <br />sented pictures of vandalism to his property. <br /> <br /> Mr. C. Ganje, 1511 Loganberry Way, representing neighbors of Mr. ]ailey, <br />stated the residents were opposed to a chain link fence being constructed in <br />this area and that it was not in the best interests of the community. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Philcox, and seconded by <br />Councilman Kinney, that Resolution No. 74-246, denying the appeal of Victor <br />Bailey from an adverse decision of the Board of Adjustment in denying applica- <br />tion for a variance from the requirements of Section 2-5.37(c), Article 3, <br />Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton, to allow <br />the construction of a four feet high chain link fence in the required front <br />setback of property located at 4565 Black Avenue; zoning district for the <br />property is R-1-6500, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, <br /> and Mayor Mor i <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori recessed the meeting at 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori reconvened the meeting at 9:40 P.M. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Adoption of Ordinance No. 747.., rezonin~ from C-F (Commercial Freeway) to C-S <br />(Commercial Service) District~ that area bordered by the Arroyo del Valle on <br />the S0uth~ Santa Rita Road on the West~ Stanley Boulevard on the North~ and <br />the western boundary of the Pleasanton Mobile Home Park on the East~ and <br />amending the Zoning Map of the C.ity of Pleasanton accqrdin~ly (Introduced by <br />a 3-2 vote on November 25~ 1974) <br /> Mr. Edgar stated this ordinance was introduced by a 3-2 vote on November 25, <br />1974. <br /> <br /> Councilwoman LeClaire reiterated her opposition to Commercial-Service zoning <br />in the subject area. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that <br />Ordinance No. 747, rezoning from C-F (Commercial Freeway) to C-S (Commercial <br />Service) District, that area bordered by the Arroyo del Valle on the South, <br />Santa Rita Road on the West, Stanley Boulevard on the North, and the western <br />boundary of the Pleasanton Mobile Home Park on the East, and amending the <br />Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Philcox, and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: Councilman Herlihy and Councilwoman LeClaire <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 4. 12/16/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
