Councilman Herlihy reported on the new 'BART Trans-Bay Route, stating that <br /> he, Mayor Mori, and Councilwoman LeCla~re rode on the maiden run, Saturday, <br /> October 14, 1974. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Philcox reported that a number of petitions had been signed by <br /> concerned citizens in support of the widening of 1-580, and he requested these <br /> be transmitted to Federal and State Departments of Transportation as soon. as <br /> possible. <br /> <br /> Councilman Philcox commented on Pleasanton being named as having the lowest <br /> crime rate in Alameda County~ <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Philcox, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that <br />Resolution No. 74-179, commending the Police Department for their outstanding <br />efforts in preventing crime in the City of Pleasanton, be adopted. <br />The rol]csl! vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philc~x, <br /> and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori stated tha~ ~he Chamber of Commerce had requested the City to <br />share in the cost of Christmas decorations. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, <br />that staff be authorized to execute a contract between City and Chamber of <br />Commerce to participate in the Christmas decoration program for a term of <br />three (3) years at a cost of approximately $1,100.00 per year~ or 1/3 of <br />the total cost. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, <br /> and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION______~:.,Pending Litigation; Appointments <br /> Mayor Mori recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 11:55 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori reconvened the meeting at 12:00 A.Mo <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 12:05 A.M., it was moved by Councilman <br />Philcox, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that the meeting be adjourned to <br />meet again in Adjourned Regular Session at 4:00 P~M., on Septembe~ 19, 1974. <br />The roll call vo~e was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herllhy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, <br /> and Mayor Mo~i <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Respectful] y 5ubznitted, <br /> <br /> 8. 9/16/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
