MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL August 29, 1974 CALL TO ORDER Mayor FloydMori called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 5:00 P.M. ROLL CALL Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeElairs, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori were present. Councilman Herlihy was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present, PROCLAmaTION It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, that the Mayor proclaim September 1 and 2, 1974, as Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Tele- thon Days in the City of Pleasanton. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori NOES: None ABSENT: COuncilman Herlihy ESTABLISHMENT OF 1974-75 TAX RATE After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, to levy a 10¢ tax on the Pleasanton Township County Water District for delinquent P.T.C.W.D. Assessment District No. 1, payments. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori NOES: -N~ne ABSENT: Councilman Herlihy Discussion ensued regarding the possible 8¢ City tax rate increase. It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that the General Purpose Tax rate be increased 4¢ and that the revenue be used for legal services and maintenance. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClalre, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Herlihy It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, that Resolution No. 74-169, fixing the tax rate for the City of Pleasanton during the Fiscal Year 1974-75 and establishing a Special Tax levy pursuant to Section 8809 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, be adopted.
