MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Nay 11, 1976 <br /> <br /> .CALL TO ORDER <br /> Nayor Robert Philcox called the Adjourned ReSular Naetin~ of the City Council <br /> to order at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris GeorSe called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers Brandes, Berlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Nayor Philcox were present. <br /> Mr. Edgar, City NanaBet, Mr. Campbell, ~ssistant City Naneast/Director of Public <br /> Works, Mr. Harris, Director of Plannin8, Mr. Sooby, Director of EnSineerinS Ser- <br /> vices-, Mr. Dobbins, Chief Buildin8 Inspector, Mr. Nelson, Polic~.Captain, Mr. <br /> Cherry, Fire Division Administration, Nr. Monaco, SewaSs Treatment Plant NanaSer, <br /> Mr. Hallock, Street Superintendent, Mr. McCloud, Water Superintendent, Mr. Fatone <br /> Director of Field Services, Mr. Caporusso, Recreation Superintendent, Mr. Miller <br /> and Mr. Walker, Assistants to the City NanaSer, were present. <br /> <br /> REVIEW AND CONSIDERATION OF THE PROPOSED 1976-77 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br /> Mr. EdSar r~viewed the deletions prev'iously determined by City <br /> chan~es in the Preliminary BudSet since it has been prepared. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar then reviewed the Capital Improvement ProSram, briefly explaininS <br /> each fund and project. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued reSardin8 various projects and priorities of the <br />Capital Improvement ProWtree. <br /> <br /> It was determined by Council to combine items 3 and 4 of the County Gas Tax <br />Fund into one lump sum of $90,000.00, to be desiSnated for traffic siSnals and/or <br />road improvements, the specific projects to be determined later. <br /> <br /> Council also determined that funds with balances of less than $100.00 should <br />be zeroed out. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer reviewed a list of possible additional revenues that ' <br />he had proposed. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Review and c.onsideration of the Cit~ of Pleasanton Proposed 1976-77 Preliminary <br />Budget :~.; ~ ,. <br /> ~ayor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Jordan, 7218 Stonedale Drive, requested that there be no increa' n <br />City taxes without possibly taking it to the p~ople for their vote on the <br />reSarding this matter. Ha also desired input with reSard to possible BudSe~.~ts' '-" <br /> <br /> There being no further public test~amny, Bayor Fhilcox declared the public · <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer presented his list of possible BudSet cuts and recom- <br />mendations. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council determined to have each member prepare a list of · <br />proposed amendments to the Preliminary Budget for review and discussion at a · <br />Budget Review Session to be held Tuesday:, Nay 18, 1976, 8:00 P.M., at the <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers, 30 West Angela Street. <br /> <br /> <br />
