421 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 10, 1.976 <br /> <br /> INTERVIEWS FOR PARK AND KECKEATION COMMISSIONER <br /> The City Council met at 7:00 P.M., to interview the following people regarding <br /> appointment to the Park and Recreation Commission: <br /> <br /> Manuel L. Avilla, Jr~ <br /> R. Ao Bota <br /> Stan Callon <br /> Howard To Garrigan <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION BY..~A~HER.~OWEN~ RE: VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER <br /> At 7:55 P.M., City Council heard a presentation by Father Vincent M. Cowen <br /> regarding a Vocational Training Center, whose Prime Sponsor would be ACTEB. He <br /> requested local support towards the rent of a building in order that a Center' <br /> could be placed in the Livermore-Amador Valley. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire stated this is a way for CETA money to be brought into <br /> the Valley~ <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox emphasized the difficulty of finding funds in the current Budget <br /> for assistance of this program but that it could still be considered in the Budget <br /> Sessions currently underway~ <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Philcox called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:05 P.M., and then led the Pledge of~Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox were present, <br />Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City <br />Manager/Director of Public Works, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning, and Mr. Sooby, <br />Director of Engineering Services, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested the following agenda amendments be made: <br /> <br />1. Continue item 7b - Appeal of the Stoneson Development Corporation to an adverse <br /> decision of the Planning Commission regarding RZ-76-2, an application to fezone <br /> approximately 22,7 acres of land located south of Stoneridge Drive and bounded <br /> by Stonedale Drive, Gold Creek, and Interstate Freeway 680, from PUD (Planned <br /> Unit Development) District to R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential - 6500 sq. ft. <br /> site a~ea per dwelling unit) District, to the meeting of July 12, 1976. <br /> <br />2. Continue item lle - Review of Bids and Award of Contract on Val Vista Park Tot <br /> Lot and Picnic Areas, to the meeting of May 17, 1976. <br /> <br />3. Discuss SB-1401 under Reports of the City Attorney, as item 12a. <br /> <br />4. Councilmember LeClaire requested that the Minutes of May 3, 1976, be corrected <br /> to reflect that her No vote on the appointment of Mrs. Beverly Montgomery as <br /> Komandorski Village representative on the Housing Authority Board, was for the <br /> reason she felt Mr. Daniel Blea would add more balance to the Housing Authority <br /> Board because of his age factor and his ability to better communicate with the <br /> Spanish speaking people. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved, as amended: <br /> <br /> <br />
