Councilmember Herlihy felt that the Planning Commission position was
<br />correct in that the rules governing home occupations should be upheld
<br />to protect those who rent commercial facilities. Further, he felt six
<br />months was ample time to provide opportunity to get his business On its
<br />feet.

<br />rules and regulations pertaining to home occupations!.

<br />Mr. Scheidig explained that this resolution is intended to incorporate!
<br />all amendments made to the previous Traffic Resolution, bringing it up-to-
<br />date, with the understanding that as further changes are made, this resolu-
<br />tion will have to again be updated.

<br />Request of the Pleasanton Art League to hang banner on Main Street sign,
<br />May 7-17, 1976, to advertise "Pleasanton's Bicentennial Heritage Festival"

<br />Request of the Alisal Improvement Club to hang banner on Main Street sign,
<br />May 31-June 7, 1976, to advertise the "Golden Jubilee Faire"
<br />
<br /> Mr. Edgar discussed these two requests together. He explained to the
<br />Council the City's position regarding requests of this nature, citing the
<br />aesthetic problems and potential damage to the neon sign tubes which can
<br />cost $200 to replace.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Philcox suggested that the City use its new Hi-Ranger tree trimmer
<br />to aid in attaching these banners to the sign.

<br /> Councilmember Herlihy felt that these banners advertising local events
<br />are part of Pleasanton's flavor and moved, seconded by Councilmember Mercer,
<br />the approval of the request of the Pleasanton Art League to hang banner on
