REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Oral Report, Re: Approval of Additional Manpower for the Department of <br /> Public Safety pursuant to City Council increasing available revenues <br /> Due to the lateness of the hour, it was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, <br /> and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, that this matter b~ continued to <br /> November 29, 1976, to be heard prior to the joint meeting with the Planning <br /> Commission scheduled for that evening. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />--AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Approval of Annexation No. 72, Stanley Boulevard <br /> Mr. Sooby presented his report dated November 16, 1976 on this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, seconded by Councilmember <br /> Mercer, that Resolution No. 76-271, approving the annexation of Annexation <br /> #72 to the City of Pleasanton, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> ~AYES: Councilmember Br~ndes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer and Mayor Philcox <br /> ~-~NOES: None <br /> %~ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> ~ Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> 'L~ There were no matters for the information of th'e Council presented at <br /> this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION <br /> This matter was heard under Item 5a early in the evening. <br /> <br />,~'COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Brandes related a problem mentioned by the Planning Com- <br /> mission regarding new construction at the Sunol Corporation Yard. Mr. <br /> Campbell explained that they were extending one of the buildings along Sunol <br /> Boulevard. If the Planning Commission would like, he will meet with them <br /> and show them just what is being done there. <br /> <br /> The Councilmembers gave their various committee reports. <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember LeClaire brought up the issue regarding initiating a <br /> program for substations during Christmas for those areas not receiving mail <br /> delivery, as has been done in previous years. Mr. Edgar indicated that he <br /> would check into the matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire also mentioned the possibility of establishing <br /> an adjournment time of 11:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes expressed a need for consideration of making <br /> Old Santa Rita Road into a four lane road at some future date. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox reported that he has received a letter from KNBR requestin~ <br /> to have another Good Times Parade, the time to be set at a later date. <br /> Council indicated approval of a KNBR parade with the support of the Jaycees <br /> and Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philco~ reported that with regard to the March ballot measure <br /> the deadline for arguments for and against is December 17, t976. <br /> <br /> 6. 11-22-76 <br /> <br /> <br />
