<br /> Report, Re: Ground Water Monitoring Prog~a~
<br /> Mr. Campbell presented his report dated October I, 1976, regarding this
<br /> matter.
<br />
<br /> Councilmember Herlihy requested this matter be deferred until after the
<br /> November 2nd election. He stated he felt it was the obligation of Zone 7
<br /> to monitor the ground water in the Valley at no cost to the City.
<br />
<br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by
<br /> Councilmember Mercer, instructing staff to write a letter to Zone 7 requesting
<br /> them to absorb the entire costs of monitoring wells in the Valley inasmuch as
<br /> it is the Council's understanding that it is Zone 7's charge to be responsible
<br /> for monitoring the ground water, and to continue decision on this matter until
<br />aD reply from Zone 7. ~

<br /> Report, R~:. Installation of Smoke Detectors at Komandorski Vi],la[~
<br /> Mr. Walker presented his report dated September 29, 1976, regarding th~s
<br /> matter.
<br />
<br /> Councilmember LeClaire expressed concern regarding possible r~d~at~on
<br /> ..... hazard in some smoke detectors, and suggested that use of another type be
<br /> investigated before a decision is made ~n this matter.
<br />
<br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he feint the risk was negl~g~ble and that
<br /> the smoke detectors should be installed at Komandorski Village ~mmediately.
<br />
<br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded
<br /> by Councilmember Herlihy, to continue this item ~:o the meeting of October
<br /> 26, 1976, for further investigation and report on smoke detectors relatfve
<br /> to the radio active element.

<br /> LeClaire, that Resolution No. 76-224, approving the extension of Lease with
<br /> Jay Harris for Corral Drive-In at 4895 First Street, be adopted.

<br /> Mr. Sooby presented his report dated October 5, 1976, regarding this
<br /> matter.
<br />
<br /> After discussion, it was moved by Co~ncitmember Brandes, and seconded
<br /> by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 76-225, awarding contract to
<br /> Mountain Construction, Inc., P. O. Box 1].6, San. Ramon, Ca., in the amount
<br /> of $52,525.00, for Highland Oaks Sewer Improvements, Project No. 76-6, and
<br /> that an additional §12,200.00 be budgeted to this project from the Sewer
<br /> Improvement Fund, be adopted.
