MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 13, 1976 <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION OF THE AAA SAFETY AWARD <br /> At 6:55 P.M., the American Automobile Association presented the City <br />with a Special Citation for Pedestrian Safety among cities of 25,000-50,000 <br />population, for 1975. <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION RE: PILOT FOR LOCAL TV PROGRAMMING <br /> At 7:00 P.M., Darla Stevens, 1537 Fairview Court, presented a TV documen- <br /> tary film of local public access programming to preview what can be done at <br /> the local level for community interest activities. <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION BY CONGRESSMAN STARK~S REPRESENTATIVE OF A FLAG FLOWN OVER THE <br /> CAPITOL ON JULY.4~ 1976 <br /> At 7:45 P.M., Ms. Gay Hyde, on behalf of Congressman Stark, presented a <br /> flag to the City that had flown over the Capitol of the United States on <br /> July 4, 1976, as a Bicentennial memento. <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION RE: BABE RUTH BASEBALL AWARD <br /> At 7:50 P.M., Mr. Paul Senden, 2416 Sanderling Drive, presented a trophy <br /> for the 1976 District Champions of Babe Ruth Baseball, to be placed in City <br /> Hall. <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Philcox called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as <br />follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />were present. Mr. Edgar, City ~nager, Mr~ Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Camp- <br />bell, Assistant CityManager/Director of Public Works, Mr. Harris, Director of <br />Planning, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, and Mr. Miller, Assis- <br />tant to the City Manager, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested that item 10a - Progress Report, Re: Trees for Pleasanton <br />Program, be heard after the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that the voucher to Councilmember Brandes, <br /> in the amount of $278.92, for telephone expenses, be removed from the Claims <br /> for discussion. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Le- <br />Claire, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved, <br />as amended: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for August 23, 1976. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim Week of September 17-23, 1976, as Constitution Week. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 76-201, approving Claims for the month of <br /> August, 1976, in the amount of $773,408.98, less Warrant #013052 to <br /> Frank Brandes, Jr., in the amount of $278.92. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 76-202, approving Progress Payment No. 1 to <br /> Geremia Pools, Inc., in the amount of $34,592.00, for work on Diving <br /> Pool Addition - Amador Valley Community Park. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of ResolUtion No. 76-203, approving Progress Payment No. 1 to <br /> Deetz Construction Company, Inc., in the amount of $17,090.45, for work <br /> on Hopyard Road Bike Path. <br /> <br /> <br />
