359 <br /> <br /> Matters for tl~e information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the report of the Assistant to the City Manager- <br /> Walker, dated August 4, 1976, regarding Business License Revenue, for the <br /> information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the attendance record reports from 1-1-76 through <br /> 6-30-76, of the Planning Commissioners and the Park and Recreation Com- <br /> missioners, for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Approval of Joint Powers Agreement establishing a Community Action Agency <br /> in Alameda County <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report dated August 4, 1976, regarding this <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember <br /> Herlihy, that Resolution No. 76-190, authorizing execution by the Mayor of <br /> the Amended ACAP Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />~-~ NOES: None <br />· -~ ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CJ C OMMUN ICAT IONS <br />~ There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information <br /> of the Council. <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Herlihy requested a report regarding the irrigation <br /> schedule for trees on Hopyard Road and Foothill Road. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy suggested that the City Council sponsor a walk- <br /> ing tour of the proposed historical buildings in the City, with the <br /> assistance of the Livermore-Amador Valley Historical Society. This <br /> matters was referred to the Bicentennial Committee for consideration. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire requested that Southern Pacific Railroad <br /> Company be contacted regarding a loose tie at the Main Street-Sunol <br /> Boulevard crossing. criticism of the Council and staff <br /> in their handling. <br /> i <br /> Councilmember Brandes expressed ~ regard ng sewage problems at <br /> the Cheese Factory and other related items. Councilmember LeClaire and <br /> Mayor Philcox responded to Councilmember Brandes' presentation chastizing <br /> Mr. Brandes' use of news releases as a means of discussing City business <br /> and the lack of contact with members of the Council and staff to have his <br /> questions answered. Mr. Edgar presented a Progress Report on the Sunol <br /> Sewage Treatment Plant, dated August 6, 1976, to the Council to indicate <br /> action undertaken by the City since 1971 to rectify problems at the Plant <br /> and with upstream users. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox presented a letter from the Pleasanton Swim Club inviting <br /> Council to participate in sponsoring a swim meet at the Aquatic Center on <br /> August 24, 1976, 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Council concurred to participate <br /> in this event. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox requested an informal meeting be scheduled between the <br /> Planning Commission and the City Council to exchange ideas and thoughts on <br /> various City matters~ <br /> <br /> C,8~.-~ ~ ~r HcrlL_~. requested a traffic report on East Angela Street <br /> with particular emphasis on parking requirements. <br /> <br /> 7. 8/9/76 <br /> <br /> <br />
