35b <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> Report~ Re: November Ballot Measures <br /> Mr. Edgar present~ed his report dated August 4, 1976, regarding this <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> Council discussicn ensued regarding the following three items considered <br /> to be placed on the November Ballot: (1) City General Obligation Bond Issues; <br /> (2) Tax Overridge for Public Safety; and (3) City's Share of L.A.V.W.M.A. <br /> Pipeline. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br /> Herlihy, that Resolution No. 76-184, indicating the Council's support of <br /> the placement of the 19.7 MGD pipeline on the November Ballot by L.A.V.W.M.A., <br /> be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Mercer, instructing the City Attorney to prepare <br />the necessary ballot measures to place the Tax Override of Public Safety <br />on the November Ballot. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes and Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeCla~re, and Mayor Philcox <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, and Mayor Philcox expressed their <br />concern regarding placing other tax measures on the ballot since this <br />could be detrimental to the passage of the L.A.V.W.M.A. pipeline question. <br /> <br />R~port~ Re: Additiona~ T~.ff~c Sa~ty Measures along Muirwood Drive <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the report of the Assistant City Manager, dated <br />August 4, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Brandes, that Resolution No. 76-185, instructing staff to place additional <br />stop signs, crosswalks, and advance warning signs at Hillview Court and <br />Muirwood Drive, and the installation of four-way stop signs, crosswalks, <br />and advance warning signs at the intersection of Muirwood Drive, Sandalwood <br />Drive, and Clovewood Lane, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Herlihy <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Approval to Hang Banner on Main Street SiJn advertisin~ Pleasanton Play. T <br />house Production <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the report of the Recreation Coordinator dated <br />August 2, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Mercer, approving the request of the Recreation Department to hang a sign <br />advertising the Pleasanton Playhouse Production "George M" on Main Street <br />August 13 through 21, 1976, subject to conditions established by the <br />Engineering Department. <br />The roll ca].l vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire~ Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this meeting~ <br /> <br /> 5. 8/9/76 <br /> <br /> <br />
