MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL February 10, 1977 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Robert Philcox called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 5:30 P.M. ROLL CALL The roll call is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, Le- Claire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox were present. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig City Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, Assistant CityManager/Director of Public Works, were present. INTERVIEW.OF E~ECUT!VE. SEARCH FIP~.~IS, RE: POSITION OF CITY ~LANAGER Mayor Philcox and members of the City Council interviewed the following executive search firms to conduct a search for the new City Manager in Pleasan- ton: (1) Ralph Andersen and Associates, represented by Ralph Andersen and Mike Davis; (2) John Taylor, representing himself; and (3) Korn/Ferry and Associates, represent~l. by Norm Roberrs. ~Ouestions were asked of all of the firms regarding background, experience, the procedures that would be used in recruiting and selecting a City Manager, the cost, and the proposed timetable for final selection. After the interviews and some discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember LeClaire, that Resolution No. 77-33, selecting the firm of Ralph Andersen and Associates, 3500 American River Drive, Sacramento, to perform the executive search for the new City ~nager of Pleasan- ton, and authorizing the City Attorney to develop an agreement for execution by the appropriate City officials, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox NOES: None ABSENT: None .~DjOUt~4ENT There being no further business at 6:40 P.M., Mayor Philcox adjourned the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council, to meet again in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on February 14, 1977, at the Pleasanton Council Chambers.
