The Vice-Mayor proceeded to Chair this portion of the meeting. <br /> <br /> M~. Harris presented his report dated January 6, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Scheidig explained that the issue before Council at this hearing is <br />whether or not to allow "P" Zoning to be used for parking in conjunction with <br />the proposed shopping center. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor LeClaire declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in favor of the appeal: <br /> <br /> Ronald Pozzebon, 2808 Longspur Way, representing residents on Longspur Way <br /> Watly Mayer, 2780 Willowten Way <br /> Jack Berkley, 2356 Via Espada <br /> Steven Oldfield, 7254 Valley Trails Drive <br /> Joan Meyers, 2280 Sea Eagle Court <br /> Jeff Lighter, Owner of property in Pleasanton <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in opposition to the appeal: <br /> <br /> Chris Beratlis, 425 Main Street, owner of a portion of the subject <br /> property, who asked for a continuance of this item <br /> for two weeks to investigate a letter from the <br /> Housing Authority regarding possible purchase of <br /> the property in question for a low income housing <br /> site. Mr. Scheidig stated the City Council could <br /> legally continue this item forty days from the <br /> appeal date,, which would be the end of the month. <br /> The Council decided to proceed with the public <br /> hearing. <br /> Bill Burdoski, 615 Tenth Street, Sacramento, owner of a portion of <br /> the property <br /> Dick Fisher, 2218 Camino Brazos, Architect for the proposed shopping <br /> center. He indicated that the center was too small <br /> for a food market and all parking for other permitted <br /> uses could be accommodated on the C-C zoned portion <br /> of the site. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pozzebon, representing Longspur Way residents, rebutted the testimony <br />of the above applicants. <br /> <br /> There being no further public testimony, Vice Mayor LeClaire declared the <br />public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes asked if the City Council had the authority to estab- <br />list where the median breaks would be placed along Hopyard Road and Valley <br />Avenue in the vicinity of the shopping center. Mr. Scheidig advised. he would <br />have to check the Code on this matter. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor LeClaire recessed the meeting at 9:25 P.M. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor LeClaire reconvened the meeting at 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> 3. 1/10/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
