The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes and Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, and Mayor Philcox+ <br />ABSEnt: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox stated he felt the condition of streets should be improved and <br />t.hat the remaining funds should be designated for this use. The City Manager should <br />report back to Council regarding appropriate areas for use of this money. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 77-4, app;oving allocation of $134,700.00 <br />as follows: (1) Traffic Signal - Main Street at Neal Street; (2) Traffic Signal - <br />Main Street at Ray and St. John; (3) St. }~ry~s~! Street at Western Pacific Railroad <br />Additional allocation; (4) Modify Bicycle Grates for bicycle safety - F.A.U. Routes; <br />(5) Widen Hopyard Road at Hartsen Drive for Right Turn Lane; (6) Minor improvements to <br />VervaiS Avenue; and that the rem~ining $15,300.00 be allocated to street maintenance, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Herlihy <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy stated he supported all of the above projects e~cept the <br />traffic signal for Main Street at Ray and St. John Streets. <br /> <br />Yatters for ~he Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the attendance reports of the Planning CommiSsion and the <br />Park and Recreation Commission for the period July-December, 1976. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented his report dated Deccmber 27, 1976, regarding progress on <br />traffic project relative to necessity of traffic committee in the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a report of the Df.rector of Planning regarding minor modifi- <br />cations to PUD-69-8, Tract 3297, George Oakes, <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar reported On the status of Housing Authority appointments for vacancies <br />on that Board due to the resignations of William Thompson and Beverly Montgomery. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITYATTORNEY <br />Letter from Police Officer Bill Yates Re~.,n~LJ~l Ass_~s_tance in Lopez Suit <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented a letter from Police Officer Bill Yates dated December 28, <br />1976, requesting legal assistance for himself and Police Officer Fred Crabtree in the <br />Lopez Suit against the City. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Council-~ <br />member Brandes, that Resolution No. 77-5, authorizing the acquisition of Defense <br />Counsel for Officer William Yates and Officer Fred Crabtree in the case of Lopez vs. <br />City of Pleasanton, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />~10ES: None <br />ABSE~T: None <br /> <br /> 7. 1/3/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
