MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> TtIE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> May 9, 1978 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br />at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. <br />Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Harris, Director of <br />Planning and Community Development, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Mana- <br />ger, were present. <br /> <br />AGEI~]DA ~.IE~DMENTS <br /> Mr. Brown requested that item 4-d be corrected to read Adoption of Ordinance <br />No. 852 instead of Ordinance No. 851. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown requested that an item be added as item 4o - Proclaim ~{ay as Correct <br />Posture Month. <br /> <br /> Mr. Broom requasted that an item be added as item 4p - Resolution Certifying <br />the Final EIR for GP-76-6, McManus Property. <br /> <br /> Mr.'Broom stated that a communication had been received from Wickland Oil <br />Company appealing two conditions imposed by the Planning Commission on Cases <br />Z-78-42 and UP-78-6, and that this matter should be considered at the same time <br />as item 6f - Appeal of Frank C. Brandes, Jr., of a decision of the Planning <br />Commission and Design Review Board approv].ng Cases UP-78-6 and Z-78-42, appli- <br />cations for a Conditional Use Permit and design review for a service station <br />proposed for the 1.1 acre site located at the northwest corner of the inter- <br />section of Hopyard Road and Johnson Industrial Drive. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown requested that item 6e - Application of the City Council for an <br />amendment to Section 2-7.08(a), Article 8, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance <br />Code of the City of Pleasanton, which would revise, comprehensively, the schedule <br />of permitted and conditional uses in all of the commercially zoned districts of <br />the City of Pleasanton (Continued Open from '3-28-78), be continued to the meeting <br />of June 13, 1978. Council concurred. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br /> that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar together with amendments <br /> thereto be approved. <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minu'tes for 4-20-78, 4-25-78, 5-1-78, and 5-2-78. <br /> <br />b. Approval by motion of request by Foothill Drama Club to hang Banner on the <br /> Pleasanton Main Street Sign, May 13-21, 1978. <br /> <br /> c. Proclaim M~y 15-20, 1978, as Medical Assistants Week. <br /> <br /> <br />
