443 <br /> <br />Administration <br />Engineering Services <br />Streets <br />Parks <br />Water <br />Sewer <br /> <br /> Council asked various questions regarding these proposed budgets. Mayor <br />Hercer requested that the traffic and speed limits on Santa Rita Road near the <br />Shopping Center be studied. Mayor Mercer also asked that the left turn lanes <br />from Hopyard Road onto Valley Avenue be investigated, he felt they were too <br />short. <br /> <br /> Councilman Butler requested staff to write a letter for his signature, <br />to the County Administration Office regarding the possibility of them restain- <br />ing the County Library Building on Black Avenue. Councilman Butler also re- <br />quested a report relative to tree maintenance and the level of effort regarding <br />this program. <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued regarding litter pickup in the various sports areas used <br />by sports groups. Councilman Brandes stated he felt that the groups that did <br />the best job of cleanup should get priority for use of the fields. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, Council completed the review of the 1978-79 <br />Budget. Council determined to consider the report on Proposition 13 from the <br />City Manager during the next few weeks. After the election, Council will <br />either discuss the 1978-79 Budget again or, if Proposition 13 passes, actions <br />to operate under the revenue restrictions. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS TO PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> City Council balloted for the two Park and Recreation Commission seats. <br />The vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> Kathy OtBrien 3 votes <br /> Jim Bruno 2 votes <br /> Jack Keegan 3 votes <br /> Pat Geary 1 vote <br /> Howard Neely 1 vote <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Brandes, and seconded by Councilman Kephart, that <br />Resolution No. 78-108, reappointing Kathleen O'Brien as a member of the Park and <br />Recreation Commission for a full term, said term to expire August 15, 1982, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Brandes, and seconded by Councilman Kephart, that <br />Resolution No. 78-109, appointing Jack Keegan as a member of the Park and Recrea- <br />tion Commission to fill the vacated seat of Charles H. Gielow, Jr., said term <br />to expire August 15, 1982, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 2. 5/8/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
