3.03' <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer asked if members of the Housing Authority Board had questions <br />for Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Alves stated he hopes that these meetings can be used to get to know <br />each other better and that he, as a member of the Housing Authority Board,' wants <br />to do what the people want. <br /> <br /> Mr. Neely stated that housing costs are high and asked what does the Council <br />want to do to help assure that housing is affordable to a broader range of in- <br />come groups. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Gordner stated the Housing Authority Board would like to know what the <br />Council wants in the future when Komandorski Village is completed. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Pearson stated she was very interested in the housing rehabilitation <br />proposed by the City as she felt rehabilitation is needed as well as new hous- <br />ing. Councilmember Brandes stated that the Council will soon be reviewing the <br />entire do~ntown area as regards zoning and that housing in the area will be <br />addressed. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Pearson stated that elderly people are especially interested in lower <br />cost housing in downto~n areas because of the convenience of shopping and other <br />services. <br /> <br /> Mr. Alves stated that since Livermore was not interested in the housing <br />rehabilitation program, why not have rehabilitation to apply to public improve- <br />ments such as sidewalks and curb and gutter. Mayor Mercer stated he is in- <br />terested in that type of a project but was not interested in the rehabilitation <br />program because of the high costs of administration. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Caughron stated she was pleased to see this meeting occur and felt that <br />future meetings would make working together more effective. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer inquired as to what topics should be discussed at future meet- <br />ings. After discussion, the following items were mentioned: <br /> <br /> 1. What does the City Council ~ant in housing for Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> 2. What are the housing needs of Pleasanton, and who can do the study <br /> to determine this. <br /> <br /> 3. What can the City and Housing Authority do for rehabilitation of <br /> older housing. <br /> <br /> 4. What is the future outlook for senior citizens housing. <br /> <br /> 5.I.~at are some ItCD projects we might be able to add to our Housing <br /> and Community Development Program list for next year. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer suggested joint meetings between the City Council and Housing <br />Authority Board be held once each quarter with the next meeting scheduled for <br />January. The Housing Authority Board stated they would review their meeting <br />dates and contact the City about a date in January. <br /> <br /> 3. 10/30/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
