MINUTES of THE MEETING of TttE CITY COUNCIL August 29, 1978 CALL TO ORDtR - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG l'~ayor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL ~-- Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: ~ Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, and Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmembers ~ Kephart and Wood were absent. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, ~ Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr Harris, Director of ,~ Planning and Community Development, Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, Mr. Cullum, Chief Building Inspector, and Mr. Hill, Fire Chief, were present. AGE~DA AMENDMENTS Mr. Brown requested the following amendments be made to the agenda: Add item 4i - Approve Request of Girls Soccer Association to hang Banner on the Main Street Sign, September 1-9, 1978.. Add item 4j - Acceptance of Grant Deed from P. & A. Gerardini and C. & M. Vaughn. Add item 4k - Acceptance of Grant Deed from C. & M. Vaughn. Add item 10h- Change Order to Central Business District Storm Drain Project. Continue item 6c - Application of John Amaral for a general plan amendment from High Density Residential to Commercial and Offices for the property located at 404 St. Marys Street; a negative declaration of environ- mental impact will also be considered, to October 3, 1978, at the request of the applicant. Continue item llb - Opinion of Use of Park Dedication Fees, to September 12, 1978, for full Council attendance. l.!ayor Mercer requested that item lla - Report Re: Dog Defecation Ordinance, be continued to September 12, 1978, for full Council attendance. CONSLN~ CALEN~DAR It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for August 8, 1978. b. Proclaim September 3-9, 1978, as Union Label Week. c. Approve by motion the request by Pleasanton Community Band to hang Banner on the Main Street Sign, September 11-18, 1978.
