Councilmember Kephart stated it may be no more or <br />less harmful than other products used but he felt that it should be investigated. <br /> <br /> Mr. William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, spoke regarding traffic problems in <br />the area of 1-580 at Santa Rita Road. The City Engineer said he had looked into <br />this matter with the Police Department. He stated the portion of land in question <br />is o~ned by the State and that the City could ask them to make a study. Mayor <br />Brandes asked staff to request Cal-Trans to conduct a study recarding the traffic <br />problems in the area of 1-580 at Santa Rita Road. Mr. Kovac also asked the City <br />to investigate the left-turn signal at Main and Neal Street.. He stated that most <br />of the traffic goes northbound. He also cited another traffic problem in the <br />area of Vineyard Avenue at the Gas and Save Service Station. The City Manager <br />advised that a report is being prepared concerning traffic at Vineyard Avenue <br />and Ray Street. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton for an amendment to the Conversation and <br />Open Space Element of the General Plan which would chan~ed the planned acreage <br />of }{ission Hill Park from 20 to 8.5 acres <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated June 20, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes decIared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Richard Midigo, Environmental Center, representing Mission Park Investment <br />Company, stated his client had no problem with the project and that it is a condi- <br />tion of approval of the PUD. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes asked if Mr. Midigo had met with the homeowners group to discuss <br />the plans with them. ~. Midigo replied other members of his firm had met with the <br />homeo~,mers group. <br /> <br /> No one in th~ audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Council- <br />member Mercer, that Resolution No. 79-102, approving the application of the City of <br />Pleasanton for an amendment to the Conservation and Open Space Element of the General <br />Plan which would change the planned acreage of Mission Hill Park from 20 to 8.5 acres, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Adoption of 1979-80 City of Pleasanton O~r~ting Budget and Capital Improvement <br />Program <br /> Mr. Brown presented the report of the Assistant to the City Manager-Walker, <br />dated June 14, 1979, regarding this matter.
