CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-130 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING E CLAMPUS VITUS TO PLACE A <br /> MONUMENT IN MOLLER PARK RECOGNIZING 1871 GOLD DISCOVERY <br /> IN GOLD CREEK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Joaquin Murrieta Chapter 13 of E Clampus Vitus has <br /> requested permission to place a monument with a brass <br /> plaque on the north end of Moller Park to commemorate <br /> the 1871 gold discovery in Gold Creek; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission has recommended <br /> approval of the proposal; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Authorizes the Joaquin Murrieta Chapter 13 of E <br /> Clampus Vitus to place a monument in Moller Park <br /> commemorating the 1871 gold discovery, subject to the <br /> following conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. Plans and specifications of the monument to be <br /> approved by staff. <br /> <br /> 2. Specific site selection to be approved by staff. <br /> <br /> 3. E Clampus Vitus to apply for an encroachment <br /> permit, as per City policy. <br /> <br /> 4. E Clampus Vitus to provide the City with a Letter <br /> of Agreement stating their organization will <br /> maintain and care for the monument and plaque in <br /> perpetuity and that, should proper care and <br /> maintenance not be provided,the City may remove <br /> the monument and plaque and not be held <br /> responsible. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
