MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE }~ETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> June 4, 1979 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Budget Review Session of the City Council <br /> to order at 7:35 P.M. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> The roll call is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, <br />I~od, and ~yor Brandes were present. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City <br />Attorney, Mr. Caporusso, Director of Recreation and Human Resources, Mrs. Bengtson, <br />Recreation Supervisor, Mr Diez Recreation Supervisor, Mr. Hill, Fire Chief, Mr <br />Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, Mr. Miller, Assistant to the City Manager, <br />and Mrs. Wagner, Accountant, were present. <br /> <br /> 1979-80 CITY OF PLEASANTON BUDGET REVIEW <br /> Mr. Brown presented a general overview of the proposed budget. <br /> <br />~_ity Council <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the role of ABAG and its direct effect on <br />the City. It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Mercer, that the City of Pleasanton discontinue its membership in ABAG. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kephart, Mercer, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: Councilmen Butler and Wood <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />City }~nager <br /> Councilmember Kephart requested more detailed information regarding travel and <br />transportation costs. Mr. Walker explained the allowances for travel and trans- <br />portation. Councilmember I~od stated he favored removing all automobile allow- <br />ances and the City Manager's vehicle from the budget and that the City Manager use <br />his o~ vehicle. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that the allowance for vehicles remain as pre- <br />sented in the bu~et. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: Councilman Wood <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Butler, to delete the City ~anager's attendance at the City <br />Manager Spring Conference. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and }~yor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />~i~X' Attorney <br /> Mr. Levine presented the City Attorney~s office budget. Council discussion <br />ensued regarding overtime and part-time budget, City Attorney travel, and the up- <br />dating of the ordinance codes.
