MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 1, 1979 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Adjourned Regular Session regarding the <br />Residential Allocation Program to order at 7:30 P.M., and then led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, and Mayor Brandes were present. Council- <br />member Wood was absent. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. <br />Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Campbell, Director of <br />Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Swift, Assistant Planner, and Mr. Schaumburg, <br />Assistant Civil Engineer, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Brown requested the following two items be added to the agenda under the <br />Consent Calendar: <br /> <br />item 3a - Approval of Final Map for Tract 4257, conditionally, and authorize the <br /> Mayor to execute the Subdivision Agreement with Howard Long for Tract <br /> 4257. <br /> <br />item 3b - Proclaim August 12-18, 1979, as Muscular Dystrophy Week. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he had received a letter from Leo McCarthy stating <br />his support of the Jarvis Gann Initiative and asking City endorsement. Since <br />Pleasantonhas recently gone on record in opposition to this issue, Councilmember <br />Mercer requested the Mayor be authorized to send a letter to Mr. McCarthy stating <br />the City's opposition to the Spirit of 13 Initiative. Council concurred. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It Qas'moved'by CoUncilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />the following items on the Consent Calendar be,approved: <br /> <br />a. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-129, approving Final Map for Tract 4257, condi- <br /> tionally, and authorizing the Mayor to execute the Subdivision Agreement with <br /> Howard Long for Tract 4257. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim August 12-18, 1979, as Muscular Dystrophy Week. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Wood <br /> <br />PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE RESIDENTIAL ALLOCATION PROGRAM <br /> Mayor Brandes stated the purpose of this meeting was to take additional sug- <br />gestions and recommendations from interested persons and for Council to make <br />amendments to the Residential Allocation Program that will make it a more viable <br />document. <br /> <br /> <br />
