Mr. Frank Damerval, 5381 Springdale Avenue, member of the Land Use/Circulation <br />Review Committee, stated he felt that the 42 recommended changes of this Committee <br />should be considered first, and that any additional amendments should be reviewed <br />at a subsequent meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Christensen, 7979 Hillsboro Court, member of the Land Use/Circulation <br />Review Committee, stated he would like to see the 42 suggested changes addressed and <br />resolved before considering additional amendments. <br /> <br /> After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Kephart, that the first General Plan considerations for 1980 be held <br />at a time to be determined by the Planning Commission and report back to the City <br />Council with recommendations on the 42 changes suggested by the Planning Commission; <br />that a second General Plan consideration meeting be held sometime between August and <br />December as determined by Planning staff; and that the third General Plan amendment <br />consideration meeting be held in December as regularly scheduled. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES:' C0'~ncii~embers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After further discussion Councilmember Kephart withdrew his second to this motion, <br /> The motion was then seconded by Councilmember Wood. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he felt that it was not necessary to hold an additional <br />meeting to consider General Plan amendments. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Council- <br />member Wood, to amend the original motion as follows: That only those proposed 42 <br />changes be considered at the first General Plan amendment session and any additional <br />changes will be considered at a second meeting. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmember Kephart and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />~ppeal of Michael J. Schiano of a decision of the Boar~ pf. AdJustmen~ denying their <br />~pplicat~.on. for a va.r~ncete all0w the...con.struction of a 6 ft. high fence which <br />would encroach into the re~u~red setback Of ~he...prop.ert7 located at 5292 Hunnntng. <br />bird Road <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated July 15, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael J. Schiano, appellant, 5292 Hummingbird Road, stated his house is <br />on a corner lot backing up to Valley Avenue and he needed the extra setback because <br />of the narrowness of the passageway on one side of his lot. He presented a letter <br />from one of his neighbors who was in favor of the fence. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in opposition to the appeal: <br /> <br /> Mr. Rodney Jackson, 2394 Crestline Road, stated his property was diagonally <br />across from the appellant, and he felt the proposed fence would be unattractive, <br />and also could set a precedent. <br /> <br /> 5. 7/22/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
