MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> June 2, 1980 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> >~yor Kenneth Mercer called the Budget Session Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> The roll call is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and <br /> Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember Kephart was absent Mr. Walker, City <br /> .Manager, Mr. D. McCloud, Water Superintendent, Mr. Monaco, Sewage Treatment Plant <br /> Superintendent, Mr. Hallock, Streets and Parks Superintendent, Mr. Schaumburg, <br /> Director of Engineering Services, Mr. Hill, Fire Chief, and Mrs. Wagner, Director <br /> of Finance, were present. <br /> <br /> 1980-81 CITY OF PLEASANTON BUDGET REVIEW <br /> Council reviewed the 1980-81 Budget as follows: <br /> <br /> Public Works and Utilities <br /> Public Works Administration <br /> Engineering <br /> ParkMaintenance <br /> Street ~intenance <br /> Sewage Treatment <br /> Water Distribution " <br /> <br /> Fire Department <br /> <br /> ~TTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> I.~yor Mercer proposed that the City Council oppose the 70% .increase of the <br /> Franciscan Lines fares. Council concurred. The Mayor instructed staff to write <br /> a letter to the Public Utilities Commission transmitting the Council's position <br /> on this matter. <br /> <br /> The Council scheduled interviews for the vacancy on the Park and Recreation <br /> Connnission for June 25, 1980, 7:30 P.M., at the City Hall Conference Room, and <br /> instructed staff to notify the candidates of this date. Council also determined <br /> they would make a decision at this meeting to appoint a member on the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> The City Manager advised there would be an Executive Session held at 7:00 P.M., <br /> prior to the Budget Session Meeting on June 9, 1980. <br /> <br /> ADJ OU~LNT <br /> There being no further business at 10:30 P.M., Mayor Mercer adjourned the <br /> Budget Session Meeting, to meet again in a Budget Session Meeting on June 3, 1980, <br /> 7: 00 P .M., at the Fairgrounds Cafeteria. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />ME~ R.
