Adoption of Resolution No. 80-54, initiating a date of April 22, 1980, 8:00 p.m., <br /> at the Fairgrounds Cafeteria, for the public hearing to accept protests relative <br /> to Annexation No. 78, Fromm. <br /> <br />h. ProclaimMarch 16-23, 1980, as DeMolay Week in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart abstained from voting on Approval of the City Council <br />Minutes for 2-29-80, due to his absence from that meeting. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes congratulated Mr. Walker on his appointment as City Manager. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Butler requested that letters be sent to the Western Pacific and <br />Southern Pacific Railroads urging them to continue to a conclusion as soon as pos- <br />sible their joint trackage agreement relative to consolidation. Council concurred, <br />and also requested that similar letters be sent to any other appropriate agencies <br />involved in this consolidation. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested staff to prepare a report regarding improvements <br />to the existing police building that are greatly needed at this time, since the <br />proposed new policy facility will not be constructed for 2 or 3 years at the ear- <br />liest. Councilmember Mercer suggested that a handicapped ramp be considered as <br />well as improved and safer parking behind the Police building, and any other pro- <br />blems that staff might be aware of that should be improved. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE. PUBLIC <br /> Mr. WilliamMonsen, 4305 Muirwood Drive, representing homeowners in the Stone- <br />ridge area, requested a meeting with City Council and City staff relative to the <br />proposed West Las Positas Overcrossing. He stated this group would like additional <br />information relative to the Environmental Impact Report. He 'added that this group <br />felt their questions and concerns had not been answered at the Caltrans public <br />hearing on this matter held March 4, 1980, at the Fairgrounds Cafeteria. Council <br />advised Mr. Monsen he could get copies of the Environmental Impact Report from the <br />City Manager's office. After discussion, a tentative date of March 26, 1980, 7:30 <br />p.m., at Lydiksen School, was scheduled for a meeting between Stoneridge homeowners, <br />City Council, and City staff, if Mr. Monsen felt this group needed additional in- <br />formation after review of the Environmental Impact Report regarding the West Las <br />Positas Overcrossing and related traffic circulation patterns. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Appeal of CorrineMavridis of a decision of the Design Review Board denying the, <br />application for design review.approval for a 1700 sq. ft. retail buildin~ to be <br />constructed .imm~atel7 behind the existin~ commercial development located at 61~- <br />625 Main Street (Deans Dell & Caf.e~ Beauty .Nook and Jeyeler'.s. Gallery). The site <br />is zoned C-C (Central Commercial) District <br /> <br /> <br />
