Councilmember Wood stated he felt this proposed ordinance was not the answer, <br />and requested the San Leandro ordinance relating to this matter be reviewed and <br />considered for implementation in Pleasanton. The City Attorney read the San <br />Leandro ordinance which restricts the parking of vehicles on City streets by size. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he was not in agreement with any proposals thusfar. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Hernet stated that many residences in Pleasanton could not handle <br /> off-street or side yard parking, therefore, this ordinance was not fair. He stated <br /> that parked cars are sometimes as great a hazard as parked RV's. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that <br />the application of the City Council to amend Article 3, of Chapter 2, Title II of <br />the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to require that motor homes and trucks <br />with campers be appropriately screened when parked on residential properties, be <br />denied. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, andMayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he would like to consider both senions of the Code <br />and personally favored the size criteria as the way to handle this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he felt the ordinance should remain as it is now. <br /> <br /> Mr. Harris stated be could discuss this matter individually with the City Council <br />and initiate action later after researching the options. <br /> <br /> No further action was taken on this matter. <br /> <br />Application of the. ylanning Commission to amend Article 16 (Off,street Parking Re~ <br />.quiremerits) of Chap.ter. 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code Of .~h~ City of Pleasanton <br />to establish 9~fTptyeet parking requirements for V.eter~nary. hospital uses and .- <br />y.eterinary offices <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated February 20, 1980, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />Ordinance No. 929, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving the application of the Planning Commission to amend Article 16 (Off-street <br />ParkinE Requirements) of Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br />Pleasanton to establish off-street parking requirements for veterinary hospital uses <br />and veterinary offices, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> <br />
