See Appendix B.

The major budget increases are summarized below by department.
ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

Data Processing Program:

The increased costs projected for this program are primarily
related to increased use of the City's HP 3000/70 and
increased efficiency of the City's word processing network.
HP is offering for a limited time the ability to trade in the
older HPl50's and Word Processing Terminals toward the
purchase of the new HP Vectra PC's. This would allow the
standardization of a word processing package from HP called
AdvanceWrite Plus, which would operate on the HP Vectra PC's.
The acquisition of these Vectra PC's would make it possible
for all departments to communicate using electronic mail, and
other PC & HP 3000 software.
