Councilmember Kephart stated there is a large pothole on Hopyard Road near the <br />Youth Sports Park, and he requested staff to repair this street. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that boulders had fallen onto the sidewalk from the Mission <br />Hills construction. He instructed staff to request the developer to clear these <br />boulders from the sidewalks in this area. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that the yard of the residence that houses the Tri-Cities <br />Ambulance, is in bad shape. He advised that one of the conditions in approving this <br />location was that the yard would be maintained in good order. He requested staff <br />to contact Tri-Cities Ambulance and advise them to correct this problem. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Kenneth Qu'ick 'advksed Council that Better Homes Realty of Pleasanton will be <br />hosting a "Wine and Cheese Tasting Benefit" on May 28, 1981, 7:00-10:00 p.m., at <br />Century House for a trust fund to assist in medical expenses for Mike Jacobson, who <br />was injured in a motorcycle accident. He requested Council support for this fund <br />raising event. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer introduced students of the Fairlands Elementary School Student <br />Council and their teacher, Margherita Thode, who were visiting the Council meeting <br />to see how city government meetings are conducted. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of Alfred Fromm for zonin~ and development plan approval for a 102 acre <br />~lanned unit 'DevelOpment cOmmercial/industrial business park on the po~he~S.t corner <br />of Bernal Avenue and I-~80~ south of the Arroyo Del Valle which forms the boundary <br />between the Del Prado area of Pleasant0n. apd the subject site. Zonin~ for the pro- <br />perry. is "S'.' (Study) District <br /> <br />An Environmental Impact Repor~ (EIR). has been prepared for this project and copies <br />are available for review at the Plannin~ Div.ision~ 200 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton~.. <br />and at the Pleasanton"~ibrary, 4333 Black Avenue <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 81:153) dated May 7, 1981, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the Environ- <br />mental Impact Report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Irving Loube, Attorney representing Mr. From, stated this matter has been <br />before the City for approximately two years and has been recommended for approval <br />by the_Planning Commission and City staff. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ted Fairfield, Civil Engineer representing Mr. Fromm, presented a brief <br />background history of the property, stating that Mr. Frommhas owned the property <br />since 1970; the application is for Planned Unit Development; the project has very <br />few impacts; the project is somewhat of a natural because of its proximity to the <br />freeway, open space, thoroughfare, and fairgrounds; it will not impact additional <br />land uses; the condition to extend Valley Avenue will be of benefit to the entire <br />City relative to traffic; the interchange at 1-680 and Bernal Avenue will be <br />operating at level "B"; and the proposed development is a prestige project.
